Meet Stuart – Owner of Glass Cranks

What started as a small creative idea from my dad has turned into a family project (and my crash course in algorithms and workflows!).

Cycling has always been part of Dad’s life – from riding a Peugeot racing bike as a teenager in Manchester, mountain biking in Saudi Arabia, and towing us along on family rides (or with my younger sister on a child seat fast asleep). 

Over the years he’s collected (and loved) many bikes, but he’s a true fan of steel frames. Below he's pictured riding into Bruges on his Rivendell Sam Hillborne, in what he refers to as his Forrest Gump outfit!

When he’s not designing T-shirts, Dad runs another business with Mum and enjoys holidays to the Netherlands and Belgium, riding along endless cycle lanes (I am sure we will be sharing images of these trips). Over the years he’s ridden the Ronde van Vlaanderen sportive, C2C in the UK and even tackled the legendary Alpe d’Huez – all of which inspire his T-shirt designs.
